Frequently Asked Questions

1.  Why are you private pay?

I choose to operate as a private-pay provider so I can offer the highest level of personalized care without the limitations imposed by insurance companies. This means we can focus entirely on your goals, set a pace that works for you, and protect your privacy, without needing a mental health diagnosis or approval for sessions.

While I do not bill insurance directly, I’m happy to provide a superbill (receipt for services) that you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Check with your insurance if you plan to submit.

2. What’s the difference between therapy and coaching?

Therapy helps you heal and process emotional or mental health issues, while coaching is more future-focused, helping you set and reach goals. In therapy, we may address anxiety or trauma; in coaching, we might explore habits or purpose. I can help you determine which approach is right for you.

3. How long are sessions and how often do we meet?

Therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes. Frequency depends on your needs—some clients come weekly, others biweekly. We’ll collaborate to find a rhythm that supports your goals.

4. What can I expect in our first session?

The first session is a chance for me to learn about you, your goals, and what brought you here. We'll discuss your history, answer questions, and begin setting the foundation for our work together. I will send paperwork via EHR

to be filled out before session.

5. What is Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)?

ART is a short-term, evidence-based therapy that uses eye movements to help your brain process and release emotional pain connected to distressing memories. It blends aspects of traditional therapy with relaxation techniques and voluntary Image replacement that can lead to fast, lasting relief.

6. What kinds of issues can ART help with?

ART has been shown to be highly effective for:

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Anxiety and panic attacks

  • Grief and complicated loss

  • Depression

  • Phobias

  • Relationship struggles

  • Performance anxiety and blocks

7. How does ART differ from regular talk therapy?

Unlike traditional talk therapy, ART doesn’t rely on retelling your painful story over and over. Instead, it helps you shift how your brain stores distressing memories—so the emotional charge is reduced, even if the memory itself remains.

8. Do I need to talk about my trauma in detail?

No. One of the strengths of ART is that you don’t need to describe the full details of what happened. The technique works through internal processing, making it a respectful and non-invasive approach to healing.

9. How quickly does ART work?

Many people experience noticeable relief after just one to five sessions. The number of sessions needed depends on the person and the issues being addressed, but ART is designed to work efficiently.

10. Is ART a safe approach?

Yes. ART is considered a safe and effective therapy that allows your brain to do what it naturally wants to do—resolve and heal. It’s backed by research and used by trained professionals across the country.

11. Can ART be done online?

Yes, ART can be done virtually using a secure platform. We can talk through what will work best for you.
